Consider these when choosing a Wrinkle Cream

by Jen Hopkins

There are many wrinkle cream products currently available. Choosing a single product from such an assortment can be a daunting task, indeed. Confusing choices might give you more gray hair than when you started!

Luckily, with those wrinkles came wisdom, and wisdom has brought you here to find a way to tell the products that you will be happiest with. The following considerations are not intended to steer readers toward or away from any specific products, but rather offer some ideas for narrowing down that field of hundreds or thousands into several, or dozens.

First, consider the history of the product. A product with longevity has an advantage. If the daughter recognizes her mother's brand on the shelf, she is probably willing to try it herself. If a product sells consistently over the years, fighting off its considerable competition, somebody must like it. However, if the product is inexpensive, it might not be clear whether the product has persevered because of quality or low price. The product may be ineffective and still successful.

On the flip side, a new product is very tantalizing for many people. In most cases, old is replaced with new. The labeling might use phrases such as "new technology" or "new discoveries" which can be hard to resist. You will have to sample which will work best for you. Just remember, all products were once new at some point - they were not all necessarily ground breaking.

The second thing to consider is the price of the product. Conventional wisdom tells us that a price of a product is a reasonable way to determine how effective it is. It's generally true that a solution that sells for 99 cents from a drug store chain has less value than something much more costly from a beauty salon. Keep in mind, however, that more expensive products are not always the better purchase. A good formula is to consider a balance between the price of the product together with the products history.

Another consideration is the retailer that carries the product. Some products aren't available everywhere. Whether you feel that your department store carries better wrinkle creams than your pharmacy, the beauty shop products are almost always better than the discount store products. Remember that marketers are very aware of the effect that their retailers have on consumers. It is up to you to decide whether you believe that better products are only available in more exclusive stores, or if they are available everywhere because everybody loves a great product.

The last factor to consider is the sales pitch you get for the various products. Some point out that they are not tested on animals, some guarantee results or your money back, others come with free gifts and accessories, and still others carry the names of celebrities. Yes, animal testing and free gifts should receive their due consideration, but it would seem that trying several different products would ultimately be the best way to find a favorite, and as such it's hard to beat a no-risk, money back guarantee.

Most importantly, have fun trying new products. Use the considerations above to help you narrow your search to find the products that are right for you. Success can be exciting and rewarding.
