Diminish Acne Scars at Home in Four Steps

by Grace Empson

Acne is extremely unpleasant. To make matter worse, acne scars can linger on the face for years. Expensive treatments such as microdermabrasion, lasers, and chemical peels are out of reach for the average salary. But I have gone the natural, at home-way with this issue.

From the comfort of your own home, you can reduce scarring on your face caused by acne. Here I have laid out four steps to follow, and I do mean follow. Because this is an at home treatment, consistency is a must. Doing these steps one time will not yield results. However, if you stick to the four steps on a daily regimen, you will see results.

Four Steps to Get Rid of Scars Caused by Acne at Home

Step #1: Balance Your Skin's PH Level

Improving the PH balance of your skin is proven to yield healthier skin. This in turn visibly reduces the appearance of acne scars. Baking soda is an effective exfoliant and a natural skin PH balancer. All you have to do is take a pinch of baking soda and mix it with water. Then, gently massage it onto your wet face, rinse.

If baking soda is not available, you may use an apple cider vinegar. Dilute it with a small amount of water and apply it before going to bed at night. It is also known to be a great PH balancer. The smell of the vinegar will fade once it dries.

Step #2: Remove Dead Skin Cells

Load up on lemon juice. It is a type of citric acid that is very effective in removing dead skin cells from the face. Drink several glasses of lemon juice each day to help your dead skin cells shed faster. New skin cells will also grow healthier and add elasticity to your skin if you load up on lemon juice. You can also apply it to your face with a cotton ball.

Step #3: Moisturizing Face Masks

An acne scars cream will always contain a moisturizing agent. But you can moisturize at home with simple ingredients. There are several at home moisturizers that you can use as face masks. Honey will also make your skin incredibly smooth and soft. Ancient Egyptians used it to moisturize their skin, and it is still known today to have the same effect. A face mask with honey applied for 15 minutes will help heal your scars. To heal and soothe acne scars, you can also apply aloe vera. All you have to do is cut a piece from the thick plant, slice it open in half, and rub the gooey substance on your face.

Step #4: Stimulate Skin Cell Regeneration

Continue reading for a surprising home remedy, step 4. Available outside in your garden is a natural substance which makes a great acne treatment balm, because of its regenerative effects. The tiny garden snail, which basks in the sun all day, produces its very own skin healing serum. When applied to the human face, this snail serum will get rid of scars caused by acne. For several decades now women in South America have known this, keeping plants inside their homes with snails in them as pets. Simply allow the snail to crawl across your face for a few minutes a day. Does this freak you out? Then try GLYCOBALM, an excellent acne treatment cream for all types of acne scars. GLYCOBALM is an all natural cream with regenerative enzymes from snail serum, which help to rebuild the skin, in turn erasing scars caused by acne.
