Acne is a widespread skin problem that usually affects teenagers. Most people suffer from mild or common forms of acne. However, there is a small percentage of the population that is forced to deal with forms of severe acne, like cystic acne.

Treating Nodulocystic Acne

As with all types of acne, nodulocystic acne can be mild or severe. In the case of mild cystic acne, all you may need is a good acne cream. If you suffer from a mild case of cystic acne it is advisable to visit your dermatologist, however, if you have isolated cysts they can be spot-treated.

With severe cases, cystic acne treatment often works with a combination of isotreitinoin and antibiotics. Steroid injections may also be needed to help dissolve cysts and nodules quickly.

Some cysts may not respond properly to other treatment options and may, therefore, require surgery. Another viable option is draining cysts.

If you want to avoid cystic acne or simple want to complement the above mentioned treatments as much as possible, then it would be wise to be vigilant with your cleansing routine. It is important that you cleanse your skin daily to keep it free from debris and excess oils. As long as your skin is healthy, it will be better equipped to handle any forms of aggression both from within and outside of the body.
